What is it?

You can now use date and datetime properties as the controlling property in conditional property logic, triggering dependent properties to appear or become required based on date values.

Why does it matter?

Many rep workflows are time-sensitive but properties in HubSpot have had no way to respond to dates automatically, leaving reps to manage timing manually or rely on follow-up reminders to capture the right context. With date-driven conditions, your records can now surface the right fields at the right moment without any extra effort from your team.

• - Sales reps get a "Renewal terms" property surfaced only once a contract end date is set, keeping records clean until that milestone is reached.
• - Onboarding teams can require a "Kickoff notes" property only after a start date is known, prompting reps to log context at the right moment.
• - Operations managers can make a "Reason for delay" property required when a due date is in the past, capturing context without a separate follow-up process.

How does it work?

1. In your HubSpot account, go to Settings, then click Properties in the left sidebar.
2. Select your object type (e.g., Contacts), then click the Conditional logic tab.
3. Click Create logic and select a date or datetime property as your controlling property.
4. Set your condition (e.g., is known, is before, or is after a specific date), then add the dependent properties to show or require.
5. Click Save logic.
