What is it?
Lead Scoring customers can now score contacts, companies, and deals based on organic social media interaction. This includes scoring based on interaction type, type of post reply, and specific social networks interacted with.
Why does it matter?
Contacts that engage with your social media indicate higher intent and interest in your business. By scoring based on social media interaction, your scores will now paint a fuller picture of engagement signals.
How does it work?
1. In the Global Navigation Bar on the left, go to Marketing > Lead Scoring. Once in the Lead Scoring app, either create a new score by clicking "Create score" or click "edit" next to an existing score. Social media interaction can be scored within Engagement and Combined scores.
2. Click “+ Add event group”.
3. “+ Add event criteria” and select “Social”, and then “Social Interaction”.
4. Select the type of social media interaction you’d like to allocate points to:
To score based on the social media interaction type, select “Interaction Type” and then select from the following options.
To score based on the type of reply to a post, select “Reply Post Resource Type”, and then select from “Post” and “Comment”.
To score based on social network type, select “Social network” and then select from “Facebook”, “Instagram”, “X”, “LinkedIn”, and “Youtube”.
For example if you have both LinkedIn and Facebook connected to your HubSpot account, and a contact commented on your LinkedIn post and replied to someone's comment on your Facebook post, they will receive:
- 2 points for the comment on the post (on your LinkedIn post)
- 3 points for the reply to the comment (on your Facebook post)
- an additional 5 points for interacting specifically with your LinkedIn
for a total of 10 points.
Note:
- You can specify the specific timeframe of when to score social media interaction, for example in the last 2 weeks
- You can specify scoring the frequency of social media interactions, for example, only score after completing the action at least 2 times
