Social Media Approvals

What is it?

Social Approvals introduces a streamlined workflow within the Social Publishing tool, enabling users to formally request and manage approvals for their social media content before it goes live. You can now ensure brand consistency and content quality by incorporating an approval step directly into your social media publishing process.

Why does it matter?

Why it matters: Social Approvals helps marketing teams ensure social media content is high-quality, consistent with the brand, and reviewed efficiently before publishing.

Problem solved: It addresses the lack of a streamlined workflow for reviewing, commenting on, and approving social posts, which can lead to brand risks, communication errors, and wasted time using ad-hoc methods. Marketing managers gain visibility into the content pipeline, while team members get clear guidance on the approval process

How does it work?

How it works:

  • Portal administrators (Super Admins) can enable the 'Approvals for Social Publishing' feature in Approval Settings. They can also specify which users (Super Admins, all users, or specific users) can bypass the approval process. Users are granted permission to approve posts via the "Approve Social Posts" toggle in Users & Teams.
  • Content creators needing approval must request it when scheduling a social post or a group of posts, likely in the 'Review & schedule' panel. They can select approvers, specify if approval is needed from one or all selected approvers, and add a note to the request.
  • Creators receive confirmation once the request is sent and can track the status (No Approval Requested, Approved, Pending, Recalled) on the social posts listing page (Drafts) and within the social composer.
  • Approvers receive notifications (in-product or email, based on their settings) with a direct link to review the post. They can view the post and either 'Approve' or 'Request changes' via buttons in the Collaboration Sidebar, adding notes if needed. An efficient workflow allows approvers to click through multiple pending posts.
  • If approvals are turned on, posts requiring approval cannot be published (manually or automatically) until fully approved. Posts cannot be approved if their scheduled time is in the past.
