What is it?

You can now create, edit, and renew contracts directly in HubSpot when the customer’s commercial commitment has already been established outside of a HubSpot quote. This includes contracts agreed through external quoting systems, purchase orders, signed agreements, or migrated from another system.

Once in HubSpot, the contract serves as the source of truth for committed revenue, connecting the commitment to billing, payments, renewals, upsells, cross-sells, and amendments.

Why does it matter?

Many organizations manage quoting or contracting in external systems. Until now, HubSpot required a quote to create a contract, making it difficult to bring those commitments into HubSpot and use contracts as a reliable source of truth.

With this change, you can:

• - Bring existing contracts into HubSpot without creating workaround quotes
• - Keep contract and committed revenue information connected to your customer records
• - Power more accurate revenue reporting, renewals, and automation, even when quoting happens outside HubSpot

How does it work?

• - Create contracts directly in HubSpot from deal, contact, company, or ticket records, or from the contracts index page.
• - Authorized users can edit contract details, line items, and terms directly from the contract record without creating a change quote.
• - Renew contracts directly in HubSpot from the contract record.
• - Admins can control who can activate or modify contracts through permissions.
• - Customers can review changes in contract history, while external systems can access contract data through read APIs.
