Quote Totals Section in Quotes

Written by Catalin Vlad | Dec 16, 2025 12:51:58 PM

What is it?

You can display a quote-level subtotal, discount, taxes, and post-tax total, enabling you to better summarize the quote information and more transparently communicate your offering to buyers.

Why does it matter?

Previously, you could only show the total contract value but could not show a breakdown of the quote total, including a quote-level discount and taxes.

You can now display a breakdown of the subtotal, line item discounts, and taxes to accurately explain and transparently display the pricing of the quote so that your buyer understands exactly what they’re agreeing to. Buyers want to see a breakdown of what they’re being charged, including taxes, before they agree to the quote.

How does it work?

Within quotes and quote templates

  • Open the quote or template editor and select the Line Items table
  • In the left sidebar, select the "Totals" tab and toggle on the Totals section
  •
  •
  • A new section will appear within the Line Items table, where you can:
    • Change label names (e.g., Change "Taxes" to "VAT")
    • Toggle the display of certain fields of the Totals section (i.e. toggle off "Taxes")
  • If there are recurring line items, you can choose between showing a "simple subtotal" or a "subtotal with breakdown" to show the subtotals broken out by frequency.

Note: The Totals section in quote templates will not show values for Discount, Taxes, Due on effective date, or Total contract value, as these are applied to each line item during quote creation.
