Starting August 19, 2026 local time email sending will use the HubSpot Timezone (hs_timezone) contact property as the primary source for a recipient's timezone, with a fallback to IP Timezone if the HubSpot Timezone property is empty.
Historically, the IP Timezone property governed email local time sending and was not editable by customers. This property can be empty for imported contacts, thrown off by VPNs, and doesn't update when a contact travels. With this change customers will have the flexibility to customize the timezone source for local time sending.
Starting August 19th, when scheduling a marketing email using "Send in recipient's local timezone," HubSpot will check the HubSpot Timezone property on each contact. If populated, that value will be used to determine send time. If HubSpot Timezone is empty, the IP Timezone property will be used.
