What is it?
You can now automatically register contacts to manually created Marketing Events in HubSpot using a new workflow action.
Why does it matter?
Previously, businesses that rely on marketing events for lead generation and nurturing couldn't directly enroll contacts into a HubSpot Marketing Event via automation. The process often required manual data imports or custom API solutions.
This update streamlines that process. With the new workflow action, you can now automate contact registration to events, enabling seamless integration between lead capture and event enrollment.
How does it work?
Example Use Case: Form-Based Registration
Let’s say you want to collect event signups through a HubSpot form. You can now:
- Create a form to collect registrations.
- Build a workflow that triggers when a contact submits the form.
- Automatically enroll the contact in a manually created Marketing Event.
Step-by-Step Setup:
- Navigate to:
Automation > Workflows
from the global navigation. - Create a new workflow:
Click Create Workflow, then choose Start from scratch. - Set the trigger:
Select Digital Interactions → Form Events
Choose Form Submission
Pick your HubSpot form and configure the workflow trigger.
Add the workflow action: Under the Marketing section, select 'Register Contact to a Marketing Event'
Choose a manually created event and a registration date (optional)
NOTE: This action is only applicable for marketing events manually created in HubSpot. This cannot be used for events synced via integrations.
Review and turn on the workflow.
Once live, the workflow will register every form submitter as a contact in your designated Marketing Event.
