What is it?
A new and improved AWS S3 integration for Data Hub Enterprise customers that lets you export HubSpot CRM data directly to your S3 bucket on a configurable schedule. Customers choose exactly which objects (standard and custom), events, and associations to export, set their sync frequency, and monitor sync health — all from within HubSpot.
Data is exported in Parquet format to a customer-controlled S3 bucket. Each sync run produces a full snapshot of the selected data.
This replaces the legacy S3 data out beta, which offered no object-level selection, no scheduling control, and no sync visibility.
Why does it matter?
Enterprise customers rely on S3 as a core data layer — feeding BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker), powering AI and ML pipelines, and enabling data science teams to work with HubSpot data outside the CRM. The legacy S3 integration was hard to configure and gave customers no visibility into whether their data was actually arriving. This new experience closes three specific gaps: what to export, when to export it, and whether it worked.
How does it work?
Step 1 — Install from the HubSpot App Marketplace
Navigate to the Amazon S3 listing and install. Have your HubSpot and AWS consoles open in separate tabs.
Step 2 — Create and connect an AWS IAM role
Create an AWS IAM role tied to your HubSpot account. Provide the ARN of the role in HubSpot and click Connect to Amazon S3.
Step 3 — Set bucket permissions
Attach a bucket permission policy (Read + Write) to the IAM role in AWS IAM settings. HubSpot needs both read and write access to the destination bucket.
Step 4 — Provide bucket name and test the connection
Enter your S3 bucket name in HubSpot and click Test connection. Once successful, click Next.
Step 5 — Select your data
Choose which objects (contacts, companies, deals, custom objects, etc.), association types, and events to export. All types can be selected together.
Step 6 — Set sync frequency and start
Choose how often to sync: once, every 6 hours, 12 hours, daily, weekly, or monthly. Click Start Sync.
Step 7 — Monitor
View sync status (Syncing / Synced / Failed / Archived), last sync time, error detail, and sync history from the sync details page. You can also manually trigger a re-sync at any time from the HubSpot UI. Syncs are also visible via Data Integration → App Syncs.
Data destination:
- - Format: Parquet
- - Path structure:
s3://{bucket}/hubspot-dataout/{portalId}/{runId}/{tableName}/ - - Each sync run creates a new folder; the previous export is not overwritten
