Porting is the process of transferring a phone number from one carrier to another. HubSpot is expanding the capability to port phone numbers globally to the following countries:

  • Canada (local)
  • Brazil (local)
  • Australia (local and mobile)
  • New Zealand (local)
  • Netherlands (local)
  • Germany (local)
  • France (local)
  • Denmark (local)
  • Sweden (local)
  • Norway (local)
  • Finland (local and mobile)
  • Switzerland (local)
  • Austria (local)
  • Ireland (local)
  • Mexico (local)
  • Spain (local)
  • Italy (local)

Why does it matter?

Business phone numbers are integral to your brand identity and customer reach, and losing those numbers can disrupt operations and diminish customer confidence. As HubSpot's customer base extends to international markets, offering seamless number porting is critical. By expanding number porting globally, your teams can now seamlessly bring your existing phone numbers over and set up your calling operations in the CRM.

How does it work?

  1. In your HubSpot account, click the settings icon in the top navigation bar.
  2. In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Calling > Call Setup.
  3. In the top right, click Port a number.
  4. Select the country you are porting the number from
    1. If you are porting from non US country, you will be taken to regulatory flow to submit your business information for approval. This is necessary to ensure your business is compliant to use phone numbers for that country. Once your submission is approved, you can re-enter the porting flow by following steps 1-3 above.
  5. Read the requirements and click Continue.
  6. Read the acknowledgments. Then, check the checkboxes to agree to each acknowledgment. Click Continue.
  7. Enter in the phone numbers you want to port.
    1. Enter up to 100 phone numbers, separated by commas, with a +1 prefix. All numbers must belong to the same carrier (unless Twilio owned numbers).

Please Note:

  • The standard time for porting (non U.S. countries) is 4 - 6 weeks.
  • There is typically no downtime of service of your phone number during porting
  • You must keep all numbers in service with your current carrier until the port completes to avoid delays or rejections.
  • You are responsible for any termination charges imposed by your current carrier for porting your numbers.
  • A ported number becomes a HubSpot number. HubSpot numbers can access inbound and outbound calling, be used in Inbox and HelpDesk workspaces, be used in HubSpot's IVR, and more.
