ReCAPTCHA for Live Chat

What is it?

You can now opt-in to reCAPTCHA to protect against bots and spam in live chat.

 

Why does it matter?

By implementing reCAPTCHA, you can reduce incoming chat volume from bots and spam. If you're using Customer Agent, this can minimize credit consumption from bots and spam.

 

How does it work?

ReCAPTCHA is a service from Google that acts as a security layer to distinguish human users from automated bots on websites. ReCAPTCHA is disabled by default but can be enabled on a per chatflow basis. If reCAPTCHA detects a bot or spam, the chatflow will present an error message to the user.

 

To enable reCAPTCHA for a chatflow:

  • Navigate to Service, then Chatflows
  • Select the chatflow for which you would like to enable reCAPTCHA
  • Click on Options
  • Toggle on Visitor verification
