What is it?

A new public API endpoint that lets you programmatically retrieve the payments account status for a HubSpot account, including enrollment status, payments eligibility, and transaction capabilities.

Why does it matter?

Until now, partners and integrators had no programmatic way to verify whether a HubSpot account is set up for payments or what it can do. That made it difficult to build payments-related workflows or drive adoption without manual checks.

With this new API, you can assess a HubSpot account's payments readiness on demand and use that status to power automated integrations and conditional logic.

How does it work?

To retrieve the payments account status for a HubSpot account:

1. Authenticate to the HubSpot account with the PAYMENTS_READ scope enabled.
2. Call the /commerce/payment-accounts/{version}/payment-accounts endpoint.
3. The endpoint returns the account's payments enrollment status and current transaction capabilities.
