What is it?
You can select a CPQ quote template when creating quotes via API, enabling you to pull in the content and properties from quote templates, including line items, countersignatures, attachments, and layout and design from the template to the created quote.
Why does it matter?
If you want to leverage the Quotes API and use the full functionality of quotes, you can now choose which CPQ template a quote should be associated with. Previously, if a quote was created through API and a template was associated, the information from the template was not reflected on the quote.
How does it work?
When quotes are created via API, a template can be associated, but the process will honor properties on the quote (meaning template properties do not override quote properties). If a template has additional data, it will be included in the quote.
Template selection can only happen during quote creation and updates cannot be made to which template was selected after the quote is created.
